"If at first you don't succeed, call it version 1.0"

I am - like this website - a work in progress, undergoing iterations, upgrades, and software updates (couldn't help myself with the computer comparison). My passion lies in lifestyle technology. I love to write about gadgets, web applications, startups-- basically anything that’s quirky (like me). My hope is that this blog will inspire you to 'Geek Out' without intimidation or boundaries.

I'm always open to suggestions and feedback. Feel free to email me any new ideas you find, as I'm always looking for the BBT (i.e. Bigger Better Technology).

<3,
Meghan

Let me start off by saying that I discovered you, Mary, and Julia through a random article about Julia that I came across one day. And I’m glad I did, I enjoy all of your blogs!
I am also from the Bay Area (San Francisco) and really admire your knowledge about all things tech. I think it’s really cool that you are so informed about new things in a world that is stereotypically dominated by men.
I was wondering if you could give me some websites that you use to learn about new technology. I’d really like to be better aquainted with everything and you seem like the perfect person to ask

Thanks!
My Response:
Great question, my favorite websites vary from time to time, but I do have some consistent ones that I keep as widgets on my iPhone. In no particular order, here are my daily reads that I can’t seem to live without:

Engadget- This site has the most relevant and detailed specs on any gadget you could think of, I am a gadget junkie and this blog keeps me informed and up to date
Gizmodo- Their blog makes gadgets fun, palatable, with a mix of brilliant content. I love this blog because its point of view is so consistent and strong.
Wired- Like the magazine, it mixes tech with pop culture. They write fascinating articles with easy to read explanations, one of my favorites this year is entitled The Untold Story: How the iPhone Blew Up the Wireless Industry.
SeekingAlpha- This website is more for trading stocks, but I find looking at the tech sector helpful if you want to find out the latest news and opinions on publicly traded stocks.
Silicon Alley Insider- Henry Blodget and Dan Frommer created an exceptional technology news blog that is based in New York. It continues to grow providing information that rivals older more established blogs.
TechCrunch- Michael Arrington is a brilliant writer and pioneer in the startup space. Everyone that works with him is well versed getting the news on Web 2.0 startups faster than anyone else.
The Boy Genius Report- you will see that this blog is COMPLETELY entertaining. I find it one of the most palatable blogs for fan girls like myself. My other favorites that I like to read in print are BusinessWeek, Fast Company, and the New York Times (Technology Section). Check out their articles online, I always feel enlightened after reading them. I may have missed a few, so in addition I am sending you this link from Techmeme that lists the top tech blogs: http://techmeme.com/lb
