"If at first you don't succeed, call it version 1.0"

I am - like this website - a work in progress, undergoing iterations, upgrades, and software updates (couldn't help myself with the computer comparison). My passion lies in lifestyle technology. I love to write about gadgets, web applications, startups-- basically anything that’s quirky (like me). My hope is that this blog will inspire you to 'Geek Out' without intimidation or boundaries.

I'm always open to suggestions and feedback. Feel free to email me any new ideas you find, as I'm always looking for the BBT (i.e. Bigger Better Technology).

<3,
Meghan

Back when I was working at a hedge fund in November, desperately attending NYC Tech Meet ups to grasp onto any tech minded/ startup friends in NYC, I met a now good friend of mine Justin Smithline. At the time, Justin had a startup in the works that just launched this week. Justin’s company Instinctiv (I love the name) has garnered much of press from major tech blogs, so I thought I’d add the attention by writing about Instinctv and my personal experience with it.So what does Instictiv do? Have you ever put your iPod music on shuffle and had to constantly skip through the music to find a better song? Instinctiv eliminates the annoyance of skipping through songs you don’t like, by learning your personal listening patterns. It’s a new kind of application that goes beyond random shuffle and makes song recommendation based on your play list behavior.Right now, the application only works on jailbroken iPhones so if you are interested in trying this application out, follow the instructions below (that will jailbreak your phone) and then click on the photo above to download Instinctv:

1. The first step is to find out what Firmware your iPhone/iPod Touch is currently running on. Your firmware is essentially the operating system of your iPhone/Touch. To find your firmware version on your iPhone/iPod Touch go to Settings»General»About»Version2. Instinctiv Shuffle™ is only supported on firmware version 1.1.4. If you don’t have this version, go to this link: http://www.modmyifone.com/wiki/index.php/IPhone_Firmware_Download_Links, and download version 1.1.43. Here is a hand-picked guide on unlocking your iphone: 1.1.4 firmware
