"If at first you don't succeed; call it version 1.0"

I am - like this website - a work in progress, undergoing iterations, upgrades, and software updates (couldn't help myself with the computer comparison). My passion lies in lifestyle technology. I love to write about gadgets, web applications, startups-- basically anything that’s quirky (like me). My hope is that this blog will inspire you to 'Geek Out' without intimidation or boundaries.

I'm always open to suggestions and feedback. Feel free to email me any new ideas you find, as I'm always looking for the BBT (i.e. Bigger Better Technology).

<3,
Meghan

I keep forgetting to water the plants in my apartment, so having either a phone call alert or twitter text would be a helpful reminder to tell me the status of this poor neglected greenery. I saw a demonstration of botanicalls at the Make Magazine party during NYC Internet week. The way botanicalls works is by using an Arduino electronics board that connects to your laptop and moisture probes made from nails that you stick in the soil to detect if the plant needs to be watered. The plant then sends out a Twitter alerting you its status as being thirsty, over watered, or just right. Check out the botanicalls Twitter DIY project, so your leafy friend will never go thirsty again.
